Skim UK is proud to announce a 5 event tour which will take in many of the top skimboarding spots in the south and south west of the UK.

The series will be held over the 2007/2008 winter period and each event will test different skills needed to be an all round skimboarder. Each contest will be held as an open format, meaning there will not be any age divisions. At the end of the series a tour winner will be crowned!

Each individual tour contest is different as they won’t have “big” prizes, but instead you will earn points related to your final position. As the tour progresses, you will earn points, and a tour winner will be announced after the final round of the tour to be held at the nationals around April 2008.

Skim UK will publish a scoreboard of competitors after each round.

Tour points system

Tour points are allocated in the same way as the UST skim tour in the United States with 1st place earning 1000 points. 2nd place will get 10% less points than first. Third place will earn 10% less than 2nd, and so on…

For example:

1st: 1000 points
2nd 900 points
3rd: 810 points
4th: 729 points
5th: 656 points etc

20/21 October 2007 - Challaborough Bay, South Devon
29/30 December 2007 - Boscombe Pier, Bournemouth
2008 TBC - Lands End, Cornwall (Beach to be confirmed)
2008 TBC - Mother Iveys Bay, Cornwall
April 2008 TBC - Newquay, Cornwall - This event will be worth DOUBLE points!

Entry Fees

The entry fee for each event will be £10.
Half of the entry fee will be the prize fund for the top four postions for that event.
Example: 5 people enter at £10 each = £50. Prize fund for that event = £25
